Dr. Kristina Nelsen is an education professor at Wayne State College. She teaches undergraduate and graduate special education courses.
Before teaching at WSC, Nelsen was a first-grade teacher and a K-8 special education teacher in Nebraska. She resides in Northeast Nebraska with her husband and two children.
Nelsen is a member of the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE), the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), and the Nebraska State Literacy Association (NSLA).
Nelsen's teaching interests include collaboration, MTSS, differentiation strategies, and advocacy. Her research interests include co-teaching among K-12 educators and special educators and developing successful professional learning communities within K-12 schools.
