Veteran and Active Duty Supportive Designation

Wayne State College has been recognized as a Veteran & Active Duty Supportive" school. To be eligible to receive the "Veteran and Active Duty Supportive" designation, a college or university must be a recognized postsecondary institution and meet at least five of the following criteria:

  1. have personnel specifically trained and assigned to work with military students and veteran students;
  2. have a student organization that is dedicated to helping veterans, active duty military, and their families;
  3. give college credit for certain types of military training;
  4. have a military leave-of-absence policy;
  5. have counseling and advising services for military students and veteran students;
  6. have an accredited Reserve Officer Training Corps program;
  7. have clearly identifiable on your web site a listing of services provided to military students and veteran students; and
  8. specially recognize military students and veteran students during graduation or in other ways which are intended to demonstrate the institution's respect for such students' service.
