A Navigator leads a family during student visit

Navigators

Official student representatives of WSC

The Navigators are a select group of WSC students who have demonstrated academic achievement and leadership on campus. The main mission of the Navigator team is to provide a favorable image of WSC to its many publics: prospective students, parents, high school guidance counselors, and the larger community.  The Navigators are the official student representatives of the college. They host tours for prospective students and families, serve as hosts for a variety of campus events, and participate in special admission and recruiting events throughout the year.

We are currently not accepting applications to become a Navigator. A form will be available when the application is open.

Applications will be reviewed and those selected will be contacted via email to schedule an interview to tell their story before current Navigators and members of the admissions staff.

Navigators responsibilities include:

  • Weekly two-hour availability for the Campus Experience (10 a.m. to noon and/or 1 to 3 p.m.)
  • Assist with Focus On You Fridays, Start Your College Search Saturdays, Senior Saturday programs and other group visit events
  • Events like Homecoming and athletic recruitment (occasionally weekend events)
  • Mandatory attendance at training at the start of the academic year
  • Mandatory attendance at bi-monthly meetings
  • Navigators typically work 5-10 hours per week
