Lambda Pi Eta

National honor society for communication majors

Lambda Pi Eta is the official National Communication Honor Society, open to communication majors at Wayne State College (Communication Studies or Mass Communication). The name Lambda Pi Eta represents what Aristotle described in his Rhetoric as the three modes of persuasion: logos meaning logic; pathos relating to emotion; and ethos defined as character, credibility, and ethics. The goal of Lambda Pi Eta is to encourage outstanding academic achievement and promote the dedication to excellence in the field of communication. New members are inducted each spring. Faculty, parents, and friends are invited. All members and future members are encouraged to submit outstanding papers and present them at a state, regional, or national communication conference.

Eligibility:
Open to juniors and seniors who have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better and 3.25 in Communication Studies or Mass Communication.
