Tyler Johnson ranks as one of the greatest scorers and passers in men's basketball history at WSC, setting numerous records while sporting a Wildcat uniform from 1995 to 1999. At the time of his induction in 2006, Johnson, a native of Hebron, Neb. (Hebron High School), ranked second on the all-time scoring list with 1,625 points and was the all-time leader in assists with 610. In three of his four seasons, Johnson led the Wildcats in scoring and helped turn the WSC men's basketball program into one of the top teams in the North Central Region in the late 1990s. Johnson was a three-time All Nebraska selection by the Omaha World-Herald. He averaged 12.3 points per game as a freshman, 16.0 as a sophomore, 15.7 as a junior, and 15.0 points per game as a senior to earn All-American honors. During Johnson's senior season, he helped the Wildcats to a 23-5 record and the top seed in the NCAA Division II North Central Region. Johnson was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 7, 2006.
