Marty Summerfield was a loyal supporter of Wayne State College athletics. He attended Wayne State College where he was a member of the Wildcat baseball team and received his bachelor's degree in Finance from Wayne State in 1985. Summerfield unexpectedly passed away after a heart attack Feb. 13, 2007, at the age of 49. He was involved in numerous organizations in Wayne and was past president of Wayne Industries, Wayne High School Booster Club, and the Wayne Country Club Board. Summerfield was posthumously inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame on Sept. 29, 2008.
