Marian Borgmann Ingwersen was a four-year letter winner in track and field at Wayne State from 1979 to 1983 and earned two All-American awards during her career. At the time of induction, she held the school record in the 200-meter dash (24.80 seconds in 1983) and ran one of the legs on the school-record 400-meter relay team in 1982. During her senior season, Marian finished seventh in the 200-meter dash at the NAIA National Meet. Borgmann Ingwersen was one of four runners on the 1982 800-meter medley relay team that placed fifth at the national meet to earn All-American honors, and she was one of four runners on the 1983 400-meter relay team that finished sixth at the national meet in 49.01 seconds. Borgmann Ingwersen served as a professor in the Natural and Social Science Department at Wayne State and was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame in the fall of 1996.
