Cindy Stella-Zelinsky lettered four years for the Wayne State College softball team, playing from 1979-82. She earned All-CSIC and NAIA All-District 11 honors during her senior season as a pitcher, and during her junior season she helped Wayne State to a seventh-place finish at the NAIA National Tournament. After WSC, Stella-Zelinsky was a successful coach at the collegiate and international level. She was pitching coach at Minnesota (1992-94) and started a program from scratch at Washington University in Missouri (1999-2005), where she led the team to four NCAA Division III National Tournaments including a seventh-place finish and 47-3 record in 2005. Her husband Steve was a standout football player during the same time at Wayne State, and the two were inducted together into the Wayne State College Athletic Hall of Fame on Sept. 28, 2013.
