Accessing and Using Handshake
Handshake is the place for Wayne State College students to search and apply for internships, co-ops, part-time and full-time jobs, work study, and on-campus and off-campus employment.
How to access Handshake
Once you enroll at WSC, you can access your Handshake account within 24 hours to start filling out your profile.
- If you already have a Handshake account set up, log in here.
- Handshake is also accessible from the software application menu in myWSC.
- The Handshake app is available for download in your mobile app store.
Tips and tricks for students using Handshake
- Complete your Handshake profile - A student who fills out a Handshake profile is more than twice as likely to have an employer reach out to them on the platform for an opportunity. Learn more about creating your profile in Handshake.
- Handshake uses three pieces of information to help develop job and internship recommendations:
- information from your student profile
- career interests you’ve added
- employers and jobs that you engage with
- Use the filters to help narrow down job opportunities. Some of the top filters include full-time, part-time, internship, job, on-campus, location, and more! Learn how to use Handshake filters.
