About the statistics
The Clery Act requires colleges to publish annual crime statistics. This page combines reported on-campus offenses in the Clery Act’s primary criminal categories with dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking — the reporting categories added by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). These categories cover people of all genders.
Rate per 1,000 students = (reported offenses ÷ fall enrollment) × 1,000.
Wayne State calculated these rates using the sources below. Reporting practices and campus populations can affect comparisons. The figures do not establish overall campus safety or individual risk.
How Wayne State compares
Wayne State College also reviewed calendar-year 2025 statistics from Nebraska's public four-year colleges and universities with broad undergraduate offerings:

The comparison uses the institutions’ 2026 annual security reports and fall 2025 enrollment figures. The University of Nebraska Medical Center is outside the comparison group because of its specialized health sciences focus.
