Renovation and transformation
Project overview
Located in the heart of campus along Wayne State College’s main pedestrian pathway, the Brandenburg Student Success Center will create a centralized hub for academic support, career development, financial services, and student resources — all in one accessible, welcoming location.
The project reflects WSC’s commitment to removing barriers, increasing opportunity, and preparing students for meaningful careers.
The Brandenburg Student Success Center will bring together essential student services, including:
- Admissions and Recruitment
- Financial Aid
- Records and Registration
- Disability Services
- Academic and Career Success Center
By connecting these services in one location, students can more easily access the support they need throughout their college journey.
Originally built in 1915, Brandenburg Hall has long been a cornerstone of campus. This transformation will preserve its historic character while creating a modern environment built for today’s students.
The renovation will improve:
- Accessibility
- Student experience
- Campus connectivity
- Collaboration between support services
- Modern infrastructure and technology
Most importantly, it will create a culture where student success is visible, supported, and celebrated.
In addition to the student success enhancements, the project will also restore Ley Theatre, preserving its legacy as a valued multi-event and performance venue for campus and community use.
A key feature of the project is the new Academic and Career Success Center, which combines academic advising and career services into one connected experience.
This innovative approach helps students connect their education to career goals from their very first semester through graduation.
