The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredits master’s and doctoral degree programs in counseling and its specialties that are offered by colleges and universities in the United States and throughout the world.

CACREP accreditation provides assurance that a program has been evaluated for content and quality, meets or exceeds national standards set by the profession, is financially and professionally stable, will prepare students for successful entry into the profession, and help them meet prerequisites for licensure exams.

CACREP accreditation is typically granted for a full eight-year cycle. Programs must then undergo a full review process to renew their accreditation status.

The master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wayne State College is accredited through March 31, 2033.

The master's degree in School Counseling at Wayne State College is accredited through March 31, 2033.
