Mary eliminated Wayne State 3-0 in the NSIC Softball Tournament Sunday morning in Marshall, Minnesota. WSC ends the season with a 30-23 record, the most wins by a WSC softball team since 1990.
Bemidji State upset #16 Wayne State 7-5 in the second game of a NSIC baseball doubleheader Saturday to split the doubleheader with the Wildcats after WSC won the first game 7-2. The 36-10 Wildcats, 22-6 in the NSIC, need to sweep the Beavers on Sunday to win the NSIC regular season title.
The WSC softball team went 1-1 Saturday at the NSIC Tournament in Marshall, Minnesota. The 'Cats hit three homers in a 11-4 first round win over Upper Iowa, then fell 4-2 to Winona State. WSC will play an elimination game at 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
Nick Schumacher pitched six innings of two-hit ball, tying the single season school record with his 11th win, to lead #16 Wayne State in a 8-0 win over SW Minnesota State Wednesday in the first game of a NSIC baseball doubleheader. SMSU won the second game 9-4. Wayne State is 35-9 and 21-5 in the NSIC and the Wildcats will host Bemidji State Saturday and Sunday.
#18 Wayne State split an NSIC baseball twinbill vs. Concordia-St. Paul Sunday at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Wildcats won the first game 3-2 in 9 innings with CSP taking the second game 3-1. WSC is now 34-8 overall and 20-4 in the NSIC.
