Pre-Athletic Training

Pre-Athletic Training

Wayne State College also partners with the University of Nebraska-Omaha to provide qualified WSC students reserved seats within their master's degree in athletic training program.

About the Pre-Athletic Training Program

Athletes and active people put their bodies under stress often. Increased activity can sometimes lead to injury. This is where athletic trainers come in to help, caring for injuries or providing education to promote wellness. Athletic trainers are health care professionals that practice in the field of sports medicine. They work with or under a physician to provide services and treatment for injuries. As part of a health care team, services provided by ATs include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. After graduating with your bachelor’s degree in Applied Human and Sport Physiology from Wayne State College, you’ll be ready to pursue graduate work in a CAATE-accredited athletic training education program.

Be sure to check out WSC's special agreement with the University of Nebraska-Omaha to see if this option is right for you.
