3+1 Dual Degree Accelerated Nursing (ABSN) Program
About the 3+1 ABSN Pathway
This collaborative dual degree program allows you to earn a degree from both Wayne State College and Creighton University.
You’ll spend three years at Wayne State College to earn a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, followed by one year at Creighton’s 12-month Accelerated BSN program.

Eligibility for the 3+1 Nursing (ABSN) Pathway:
You can apply for the 3+1 program through Wayne State College. Then, during your junior year, you will apply to Creighton’s ABSN program.
Progression requirements to continue your BSN at Creighton:
The following requirements must be met while enrolled at Wayne State for admission into the Creighton University College of Nursing ABSN program. The student must:
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Complete 33–34 semester hours of prerequisite courses
- Carry a grade of “C” (2.0) or above in the prerequisite courses to be accepted to Creighton.

Service-Learning
Make a difference in the community while learning skills you can apply toward your future career. Wayne State’s Service-Learning program has received national awards in recognition of outstanding community service, with more than 400 students participating in Service-Learning projects each semester.

Internships
Internships are not required for pre-professional programs at WSC, as these are typically completed in your final years of professional school for degree completion. However, Career Services is available to help you find job opportunities if you are looking for field-related work experience.
