International Student Services


An International Student Advisor and Admissions Office personnel assist international students before their arrival on campus, upon their arrival to campus, while pursuing their studies, when applying for USCIS benefits, and in preparing for their Practical Training and/or return home. Services include, but are not limited to:

Academic Support

  • Enrollment in classes
  • Academic program information
  • Academic support referral services
  • Orientation to WSC Student Services and facilities
  • Connecting with faculty and Faculty Advisor

Immigration Advisement

  • Education and assistance with USCIS regulations pertaining to F-1 visa status
  • Advisement and recommendations for staying in lawful status
  • Assisting international students with specific F-1 procedures, such as:
    — Maintaining nonimmigrant student status
    — Processing student applications for some immigration benefits
    — Program extensions
    — Transfer of schools
    — Employment issues
    — Reinstatement to student status
    — Change of status
    — Spouse/dependent documentation

Cross-Cultural and Other Experiences

  • Campus activities, including an international student organization
  • International Club tries to sponsor a Spring Break trip every year
  • Community activities
  • Assistance with personal and other matters
  • Housing and related issues
  • Taxes (Limited assistance - seek professional tax help!)
  • Coping with crises & adjustment to the U.S. culture
  • Financial advisement
  • Any Concerns related to studying in the U.S.
