2024 Summer Speech Camp Set for June 17-21 at WSC

Published Wednesday, April 24th, 2024

Summer Speech Camp will be held in the Peterson Fine Arts Building.

Registration is now open for Wayne State College’s Summer Speech Camp being held Monday through Friday, June 17-21, in the Peterson Fine Arts Building. This educational opportunity provides campers with an intensive, immersive speech experience led by Wayne State forensics students and faculty.

Participants get a head start on speech events for the upcoming season while improving fundamental communication. They learn new skills, hone existing skills, and interact with others who enjoy speech. Camp highlights include one-on-one coaching, event preparation for state and national contests, social activities, and advanced writing sessions in public address.

Last year’s campers shared these comments about the camp: “A chance of a lifetime!” “A fun way to meet new people and share your love of speech.” “Can't wait to go next year!”

Camp fees are $350, including room and board, and $300 for commuting students. Participation is open to students who’ve completed grades 7-12. To register, visit www.wsc.edu/speech-camp.
