WSC to Host Festival of Honor Bands Jan. 30

High school musicians will rehearse with one of three clinicians and end the day with a 4:30 p.m. concert.

A day-long festival featuring high school musicians from Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

The Wayne State College Music Department will host the Festival of Honor Bands on Saturday, Jan. 30. 

This day-long festival will feature high school musicians from Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota who participate in the festival based on audition.

Students will be rehearsing most of the day with one of three clinicians. This year’s clinicians include Carrie Jensen, band director in the Wayne Community Schools; Brady Rohlfs, band director at Waverly High School (Neb.); and Dr. Josh Calkin of Wayne State College Music Department.

The bands will perform a concert at 4:30 p.m. in Ramsey Theater, located in the Peterson Fine Arts Building. Admission for the concert is $5 at the door.
