Drafting Minor

A drafting minor can provide you with technical drawing, computer, and design skills required to be competitive in today’s job market. You’ll study mechanical and architectural drafting and learn to use computer-aided design (CAD) and modeling softwares. You’ll even design prototypes, bringing your creations to life with a 3-D printer. Consider drawing medical equipment or prosthetics that can help change someone’s life, or mechanical parts used in cutting-edge robotics and machinery. With residential and structural drafting skills, you could design homes for families and structures for new businesses. You could even apply your skills in Hollywood, helping develop sets for movies and television. As the demand for CAD operators continues to grow, the skills you’ll learn with a drafting minor will give you a competitive edge that you can apply across a variety of industries.
