WSC Student Conductors Concert Set for Dec. 5

Seven student conductors will showcase their skills with the Wayne State Symphonic Band. The concert, free and open to the public, is at 7:30 p.m. in Ramsey Theatre.

Seven Wayne State College students debut their conducting skills during the Student Conductors Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Ramsey Theatre, located in the Peterson Fine Arts Building. The concert, free and open to the public, features the Wayne State Symphonic Band.

Student conductors include Josie Brezenski, Scottsbluff; Alex Casillas, Columbus; Logan Hellerich, Shelton; Kelsie Hupp, Cedar Rapids; Kora Keslin, McCook; Erick Owen, Plattsmouth; and Christopher Woerdemann, Wayne. Students gain hands-on experience under the guidance of Dr. Josh Calkin, professor of music and director of bands at Wayne State.
