Dr. Adolfo Cacheiro to Present '2666 and the Ukraine War' Program

Adolfo CacheiroDr. Adolfo Cacheiro, professor of Spanish at Wayne State College, will present “'2666' and the Ukraine War” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Humanities Building, Room 319, on campus. The program is free and open to the public.

The presentation analyzes how Roberto Bolaño’s novel, “2666,” mirrors the ongoing proxy war between the United States and Russia. A renowned Latin American novelist, Bolaño’s book details a menacing crime spree and the impact on society and individuals. The novel’s dangerous world vision offers an introspective look at the modern world.

Cacheiro teaches Spanish language and literature at Wayne State. An author of several books and articles on Latin American literature, his latest work is “Posthuman Worlds: Roberto Bolaño’s Narrative and Virtual Reality.”
