Wayne State College Hosts Family Day on Sept. 18

Family-centered events begin at 9 a.m. and culminate with the Wildcat football game and fireworks display in the evening.

The Student Activities Board (SAB) and the Student Affairs Office of Wayne State College will welcome students and their families for Family Day on Sept. 18.

9 a.m.-noon: Check-in at the Student Center Atrium

  • Participate in arts and crafts
  • Purchase your meal tickets from Chartwells: $8 per person; $5 for children 10 and younger (3 and younger eat free). Meal bundle (purchasing brunch and dinner tickets): $15 per person; $10 for children 10 and younger (age 3 and younger eat free)
  • Pick up your tickets for the Planetarium

9 a.m.-12 p.m.: Starbucks and The Market open in Cat’s Corner

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Family Brunch

11 a.m.: STARS Planetarium Show at the Carhart Science Building

Noon: Astronaut Planetarium Show

1 p.m.: Birth of Planet Earth Planetarium Show

1-3:30 p.m.: Games on the Green at Bowen Lawn and the Hoffbauer Plaza (co-sponsored by the Residence Hall Association)

2 p.m.: Earth, Moon, and Sun Planetarium Show

2-3:30 p.m.: Karaoke in the Frey Suite, Kanter Student Center (refreshments provided by Spirit and Traditions)

3 p.m.: Space Opera Planetarium Show

4-6 p.m.: Family Dinner in the Upper Dining Room

5-6 p.m.: Tailgate at the Bob Cunningham Field (south end zone)

6 p.m.: Football kickoff vs Minot State. Enjoy a firework display after the game!
