WSC Film Camp

The 2023 Hot Attic Summer Filmmakers Workshop has been cancelled, but we look forward to seeing you in 2024!

About the Camp

WSC professor and award-winning filmmaker, Dr. Michael White, leads an introductory workshop in filmmaking.

Students will actively plan, shoot, and edit their own short films. All facets of production will be covered including casting, set design, location scouting, lighting, costuming, make-up, filming, and editing.

The camp is open to students in grades 7-12 and is hosted by WSC at the College Center in South Sioux City.

Times:
Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - noon
Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with film premiere at 6 p.m.

Cost:

$150 (includes t-shirt, flash drive, and lunch)

  • Monday - Scriptwriting and storyboards
  • Tuesday - All about cameras and shooting
  • Wednesday - Microphones and recording sound
  • Thursday - Sets, locations, costumes, and make-up
  • Friday - Editing and color; student film premieres (evening)
