Dave Gunther

Dave Gunther was one of the most successful basketball coaches in Wayne State history from 1967-70, guiding the Wildcats to a 71-12 record during his short tenure. His teams posted records of 24-3, 24-3 and 23-6 and was Nebraska College Conference and NAIA District 11 champions each season. Gunther was named the Omaha World Herald Male College Coach of the Year in 1969, one of only three coaches in school history to receive the award. Gunther was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame October 2, 1981.
