Dave Schneider

Inducted: 1989

Dave Schneider was a member of the Wayne State men's basketball team from 1966-1970 and played on Wildcat squads that qualified for three straight NAIA National Tournaments under Coach Dave Gunther. Schneider, a 6-9 center from Blair, was voted the team's most improved player three straight years. He went from averaging six points a game in his sophomore season to scoring 16 points a game, along with 8.6 rebounds per game, in his junior season to scoring 18 .2 points to go with 8.2 rebounds a game his senior season. Schneider helped the Wildcats to records of 24-3 (1967-68), 23-4 (1968-69) and 23-6 in the the 1969-70 season. A four-year letter winner, Schneider finished his career with 1,148 points, ranking 14th on the school's all-time scoring list at the time of his induction. Schneider was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame in the fall of 1989.
