Cory Reeder

Cory Reeder was a two-sport standout at Wayne State from 1989-94 in football and baseball. The Columbus High School graduate was a three year starter at catcher on the baseball team and was a starter for 2 ½ seasons on the Wildcat football team at linebacker and was named the 1993 WSC Male Athlete of the Year. Reeder is considered the best-ever defensive catcher at Wayne State, throwing out 63 percent of would-be base stealers as a sophomore in 1992 while hitting .317 with a team-high nine home runs and 33 RBI's with seven game-winning hits. In his junior season, Reeder had just one error and finished his Wildcat career with 22 home runs and a .310 average. On the football field, Reeder had 98 tackles and 13 tackles for loss during his senior season (1992) to rank second on the team in tackles and was third during his junior season with 87 tackles and five sacks from his linebacker position. He recorded 23 tackles in one game during his sophomore season.
