Marilyn Strate

Marilyn Strate posted winning records coaching two sports, volleyball and softball, in the mid 1980's at Wayne State College. At the time of her induction, she ranked as the winningest coach in WSC softball history, going 142-78 in her five years as head coach from 1984-88. Strate never had a losing season in softball and coached the Wildcats to back-to-back 30 win seasons, going 30-20 in 1985 and 32-14 in 1986. In volleyball, Strate posted a 123-103-1 record in five seasons as head coach from 1983-87. She had winning records in four of her five seasons as head coach, winning 29 games in the 1984 (29-20-1) and 1986 (29-22) seasons. After leaving Wayne State, Strate taught at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota where she was Faculty Athletic Representative for years and was serving as Associate Professor of Wellness and Human Performance at the time of her induction on September 25, 2010.
