Glen Gotschall

Inducted: 1997

Gotschall was a gifted, all-around track athlete who competed from 1951-55. One of the best hurdlers in WSC history, Gotschall won Nebraska College Conference titles in both the low and high hurdles in 1953 and 1955. As a freshman in 1952, he placed second in the conference in both events. As a junior in 1954, Gotschall finished second in the conference in the low hurdles and fifth in the high hurdles. He qualified for the NAIA national championships in both events as a junior and senior. While his specialty was the hurdles, Gotschall also excelled in the sprints and relays. Gotschall ran on the 440 and 880 relay teams all four years of his brilliant career. In addition, he ran a leg on the mile relay team as a senior. His all-around athletic ability helped him lead the team in individual scoring during his final three seasons. He was named the team's Most Valuable Performer in each of those seasons as well. Gotschall was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame on October 4, 1997.
