Robert Kruse

Robert Kruse attended East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Ill., before coming to WSC. Kruse, was a football and wrestling standout at WSC from 1963-1967. He was a football All-American in 1965 and 1966 and a wrestling All-American in 1965. Kruse joined the Oakland Raiders of the American Football League in 1967. He was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals halfway through the 1969 season and finished his pro football career in 1970 with the Buffalo Bills. After his experiences in pro football, Kruse returned to WSC as a wrestling and football coach. He then went back to the pros as a scout for the Oakland Raiders. At the time of his induction into the Hall of Fame, he was a high school teacher in Maywood, Ill. Kruse was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame February 3, 1979.
