The Honors Recital recognizes students demonstrating the highest performance level in select voice or instrument.
Several Wayne State College students were recognized for their excellence in music during the college’s Spring 2024 Honors Recital held April 25.
The recital featured select students recognized for outstanding progress in voice or instrument. At the end of each semester, Wayne State’s Department of Music celebrates excellence in music with an Honors Recital.
Students who performed during the Honors Recital were:
- David City – Elizabeth Aschoff, soprano
- Gothenburg – Tresten Schwarz, marimba
- Lincoln – Grant Ferrell, horn
- Papillion – Dalton Hazel, tuba
- Scottsbluff – Josie Brezenski, clarinet
- Trenton – Katie Hrnchir, marimba
- Wausa – Tyler Baue, piano
- Wayne – Kelsy Moeller, flute; Christopher Woerdemann, baritone
- York – Jason Franklin, trumpet
Students receiving individual awards were Hannah Aldridge, Madison Lake, S.D., Outstanding Freshman Music Student; Emmett White, Neola, Iowa, Outstanding Music Major; and Elizabeth Aschoff, David City, Outstanding Applied Music Student.
The Honors Recital recognizes students demonstrating the highest performance level in selected voice or instrument. Faculty members nominate diligent students who have made significant progress based on private study lessons.
