Wayne State to Host Family Day and Little Siblings Weekend on Sept. 24-25

Join us for a weekend filled with family activities at Wayne State College!

The Spirit and Traditions Council at Wayne State College will welcome students and their families for Family Day on Sept. 24. The Residence Hall Association will be sponsoring Little Siblings Weekend on Sept. 24-25.

9 a.m. - Noon: Check-in at the Student Center Atrium  

  • Participate in arts and crafts.  
  • Enjoy a face painter and balloon artist.
  • Purchase your meal tickets for brunch and dinner. Meal tickets will be $8.50 each, with a meal deal of $16 for both meals.
  • Take your picture in the Family Day photo booth.  
  • Pick up your free planetarium tickets.  

9 a.m. - 5 p.m.: The A. Jewell Schock Museum of Natural History will be open in the Carhart Science Building, Room 113. Make sure to check out the “Sun, Earth, Universe” exhibit.  

10:15 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Family brunch in the Upper Dining Room  

11 a.m.: STARS planetarium show at the Carhart Science Building 

Noon: Astronaut planetarium show at the Carhart Science Building  

1 p.m.: Oasis in Space planetarium show at the Carhart Science Building  

1 - 3:30 p.m.: Games on the Green at the Bowen Lawn and Hoffbauer Plaza (sponsored by Residence Hall Association)  

2 p.m.: Earth, Moon, and Sun planetarium show at the Carhart Science Building  

3 p.m.: From the Earth to the Universe planetarium show at the Carhart Science Building  

4 - 5 p.m.: Duelly Noted in the Frey Suite — dueling pianos show

5 - 7 p.m.: Family dinner in the Upper Dining Room

4:30 p.m.: Gates open at Memorial Stadium  

5 - 6 p.m.: Tailgate at the Bob Cunningham Field (southwest corner of the stadium) 

6 p.m.: Football kickoff vs Concordia-St. Paul. Enjoy a firework display after the game!   

In conjunction with Family Day activities, the Residence Hall Association will be hosting Little Siblings Weekend on Sept. 24-25 at the College. There will be a check-in table for visiting siblings from 9 a.m. to noon in the Student Center. Participants will enjoy all of the Family Day activities, then spend the night with their college student host. There will be a brunch for little siblings from 10:15 to 11 a.m. and a scavenger hunt at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.
