WSC Mariachi Negro y Oro Presents an Evening of Traditional Mexican Music

Wayne State CollegeEnjoy traditional Mexican music during the Wayne State College Mariachi Negro y Oro concert Wednesday, Dec. 1. The 7:30 p.m. performance takes place at the Praise Assembly of God Building, 1000 East 10th Street, Wayne, NE. This event is free and open to the public.

Mariachi Negro y Oro features a mix of instruments including trumpet, violin, vihuela, guitar, and guitarrón. Repertoire incorporates solos by Luke Jacobs of Phillips, Neb.; Lexie Jackson of Mitchell, Neb.; Alecxis Hernandez of Fremont, Neb.; Juan Vargas Rafael of Omaha, Neb.; and Samantha Camarena Jimenez of South Sioux City, Neb. The group is directed by Dr. Josh Calkin, WSC Director of Bands.
