Nine of the 10 accountants at Sehi & Associates in Norfolk, Neb., are Wayne State alumni.
Sehi & Associates, P.C., in Norfolk was established in 2001 and has a history of hiring Wayne State College graduates, including interns and full-time professionals. They currently employ 13 staff members (four partners, fve full-time accountants, one part-time accountant, and three administrative assistants). Of the 10 accountants in their offce, nine of them are Wayne State alumni. The frm provides consultation and business advisory service, tax planning and preparation, and accounting services throughout Northeast Nebraska.
Sehi & Associates is led by two partners, John Sehi and Thomas Jones ‘81, MBA ‘96. Sehi is a 1974 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration and has 44 years of experience. Jones is a 1981 graduate of WSC. He graduated with a degree in business fnance and a Master of Business Administration in 1996. He has 22 years of experience in the field.
CPAs Derrick Blum ‘11 and Tad Pospisil ‘11 are junior partners for the firm. Blum graduated from WSC with a degree in business administration (public accounting). He has been with the firm since 2008 and obtained his CPA certification in April 2015. Pospisil also graduated from WSC with a degree in business administration (public accounting). He has been with the firm since 2010 and obtained his CPA certification in April 2015. His wife, Brooke (Wortmann), is a 2013 graduate of Wayne State and first grade teacher at Norfolk Public Schools.
Amy Sisson ‘91, Audra Kruse ‘06, Alicia Blomenberg ‘15, and Katie Risinger ‘02 serve as accountants for Sehi & Associates. Sisson, a CPA, joined the firm in 2017 and has 26 years of experience. Her husband, Robert, graduated from WSC in 1992 and is the Assistant Vice President at Battle Creek State Bank. Kruse received a bachelor’s in accounting from Wayne State and has been with the firm since November 2011. Blomenberg graduated from WSC with a degree in public accounting. She worked for the firm three years as an intern and joined the staff in June 2015 as a full-time accountant. Risinger, a CPA, joined the firm in the fall of 2019 with 12 years of experience in public accounting.
Recent WSC graduates Kevin Anderson ‘19 and Karina (De La O) Dickie ‘19 joined Sehi & Associates in May as staff accountants. Dickie was also an intern for the firm as a student.
Sehi & Associates has three administrative assistants to round out its team, Jeanne Hopkins ‘70, MSE ‘78, Jean Drake, and Jan Butterfield. Hopkins graduated from WSC with a degree in elementary education and then with a Master of Science in Education. She is currently a clerical assistant for the firm. Drake is a graduate of Northeast Community College and joined the firm in 2014 as the office manager. Butterfield has been with the firm for the past five years as a part-time clerical assistant.
