Joshua Piersanti of the Wayne State College Art Department advises Gelbart.

“Andrew Gelbart’s work on projects is always clear, carefully considered and aligned within the project goals,’’ Piersanti said. “We typically invite community partners to speak with our students before beginning projects so that the students understand what they need.”

The Service-Learning Program at Wayne State College awards this scholarship each year. All enrolled students who have participated in two or more academic Service-Learning projects or events and have completed 30 credit hours are eligible to apply.
