Student Loan Report ranked WSC No. 117 out of more than 4,000 colleges.
Student Loan Report recently analyzed more than 4,000 colleges, and Wayne State College landed in the top 150 listed on their site for the amount of financial aid awarded to international students.
Wayne State College ranks No. 117.
In the study, Student Loan Report relied on Peterson's Financial Aid Data - 2015, which provided college-reported data on various forms of financial aid to students and individuals. One dataset happened to be international students receiving aid in the form of institutional aid, state government aid, federal aid, and aid from private organizations. Such aid included scholarships, student loans, grants, work-study compensation, and part-time compensation on both a need and non-need basis.
Many students from outside of the country aspire to attend college in the United States, and many colleges benefit from accepting these foreign applicants. They add to campus diversity and often bring in unique talent. Having more foreign students is a feature that many colleges boast about. It is an attractive quality to many, especially to international prospective students.
For some, college affordability is a big issue. The fact that these students are able to receive aid towards tuition is a testament to Wayne State's commitment to improving access to higher education.
