UPDATE: Comm Day has been canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
Wildcat PR will be hosting Communication Day on March 24 with the theme of "Connect." Speakers will discuss topics about connecting through many forms of communication - social media, leadership, networking, national and local opportunities. The event will be held in the Frey Conference Suite.
Topics will apply to every student. Faculty members may consider offering extra credit to students who attend. You are invited to bring your entire class to the Student Center as well! Sign-up sheets are available for students to sign in to record attendance for professors.
The theme "Connect" represents the connections that are fundamental to careers in the field of communication including those that are key to public relations, companies and success at networking.
Internet-based technologies and the growth of computers will be discussed, including social media and email. Proper ways to utilize these technologies in a professional setting and to enhance the "connectedness" of an organization will be presented and will be information for any student in any major.
"Connect" topics will be inclusive of the intercultural considerations that are more important now than ever. As diversity grows within the workplace, a need exists to understand different cultures as we strive to connect with one another on a global scale.
