Coen Herrig of Wall Lake, Iowa, and Bre Matzen of Blair, Neb., were crowned at the coronation ceremony Sept. 30.
Coen Herrig of Wall Lake, Iowa, and Bre Matzen of Blair were crowned Wayne State College’s 2024 Homecoming Royalty during the coronation ceremony held Monday, Sept. 30, on campus.
Herrig is a senior majoring in Accounting and Management. Herrig is active in Student Senate and Delta Sigma Pi. Matzen is a junior majoring in PK-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music Education and Music Performance.
Herrig is the son of Bryan and Marnie Herrig of Wall Lake, Iowa, and he is a 2021 graduate of East Sac County High School.
Matzen serves as president of Honors Club, vice president of National Association for Music Education, and as a drum major for the Wildcat Marching Band. Matzen is also active in the Wayne State Concert and Chamber Choir, the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Matzen is a peer mentor, a music tutor, a Nebraska virtual SMART tutor, a Wayne State Music Academy voice teacher, and a Neihardt Scholar.
Matzen is the daughter of Barb and Brian Matzen of Blair, and she is a 2022 graduate of Blair High School.
