Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies
Are you looking to broaden your skillset? If so, the Interdisciplinary Studies master's degree is for you. Use your creativity to design a custom program from two or more disciplines and earn your M.A. or M.S. degree. By thinking outside the academic box, you’ll acquire diverse skills that can be applied to a rapidly changing 21st century.
How the Interdisciplinary Studies Master's Program Works
The proposed program of study shall be composed of at least 30 credit hours. The program must include a minimum of 15 credit hours in a primary area of study, with the remainder of the credits in one or more areas. All graduate courses are eligible for inclusion in a program, assuming prerequisites are met. Interdisciplinary Studies students will develop a program proposal with an academic advisor which will be reviewed by the appropriate offices. Students will follow that program of study to earn their graduate degree.

Admissions Requirements
- One official set of transcripts from the undergraduate institution conferring the baccalaureate degree must be sent directly to the WSC Admissions Office.
- Students must present an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.00 scale for regular admission.
- Students may be required to take certain undergraduate courses if their undergraduate preparation is determined to be deficient by the advisor or department chairperson.
- If the student does not meet all of the above requirements, the student may be provisionally admitted. This process may include, but is not limited to, an interview, letters of recommendation, a standardized test, or a personal statement.

For their 2022 online degree report, Intelligent.com reviewed over 250 institutions to determine which schools were the most affordable based on the cost-per-credit tuition rates. Tuition rates vary based on degree level, and not all schools offer all types of degrees. The list includes community colleges, which only offer associate degrees, as well as four-year institutions that grant bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees. Schools on the list also have regional accreditation, which assures a high standard of quality.
