Wayne State's Mathematics Education (6-12) program is designed to prepare students for teacher licensure or certification in Nebraska. The Math Education graduate program does not meet teacher certification/licensure requirements through the Nebraska Department of Education. It has not been determined if these programs meet requirements for all other states (listed below).

Prior to being issued a teaching license in Nebraska, students must meet required benchmarks and receive a passing score on the state's content exam.
- Math Education (MSE in Curriculum and Instruction): The Math Education graduate program is designed for teachers who are already certified in this content area and serves as an opportunity to go deeper into their specialty while simultaneously earning a master’s degree. This program does not meet initial teacher certification/licensure requirements through the Nebraska Department of Education.
South Dakota
