Advanced Studio Art Minor

Suitable for the graphic design major, an Advanced Studio Art minor allows you to continue your visual art studies in a hands-on manner at a more advanced level. You’ll refine your skills and craftsmanship in painting, pottery and ceramics, sculpture, and printmaking. This advanced exploration of materials, problem solving, and creativity will enhance your skills as a designer and help diversify your portfolio. The extra hands-on experience, observational skills, and critical analysis you’ll gain with an Advanced Studio Art minor will help you become a more versatile job candidate.

Required Courses: 18 hours

In order to pursue an advanced studio minor, you must have completed your art core classes. A minor must include a minimum of 12 hours unduplicated by your major(s) and minor(s). 

  • ART 251 Pottery and Ceramics I (3)
  • ART 321 Painting II (3)
  • ART 371 Sculpture II (3)
  • ART 381 Printmaking II (3)

6 hours of upper division studio courses selected from:

  • ART 351 Pottery and Ceramics II (3)
