Online and Social Media Minor

Social media, eCommerce, and other online services have transformed the media, sales, and marketing world. They require skills in interactive communication, media production, information technology, psychology, critical thinking, and many other disciplines. Media sectors that were previously separate have merged into the online environment. The online and social media minor at Wayne State will prepare you for this dynamic environment. Core skills include social media marketing, brand promotion, writing, and multi-platform content creation. Electives may be used to tailor the minor to your own strengths in areas such as eCommerce, graphic design, electronic journalism, and public relations. Online and social media is an excellent minor to pair with many majors, including graphic design, business, information technology, education, marketing, and sports management, as well as many others. These skills will make you highly marketable to employers after you graduate.
