Annual Projects
Some Service-Learning projects are conducted each year. A couple of examples are the Star Party at IKES Lake and Head Start education.
Discover Astronomy
Led by Todd Young, students in this course annually host a Star Party at IKES Lake for the WSC campus and Wayne community. Individuals in attendance learn about the night sky through interactive exercises and crafts developed by the students. Refreshments are served, and it’s an excellent opportunity to spend time together viewing the stars.
FCS Intro to Early Childhood Education
Led by Pam Langlie, current WSC students work with the Wayne Head Start School each year to develop early education materials for preschool children addressing literacy, fine motor development, and social and emotional skills.
