Favorite thing about WSC: My favorite thing about WSC is the open enrollment policy. I love that Wayne gives ALL students an opportunity to pursue higher education. College is very different than high school, and students who did not feel successful in high school should have the opportunity to be successful in college.

Favorite spot on campus: My favorite spot on campus is the library. If you love books and coffee like me, then the library will be your favorite place as well! The library is a great place to find peace and quiet whether you need a private study room or just a peaceful place to read a good book. The library is also home to Einstein’s Bagels which offers a variety of snacks but most importantly, COFFEE!

College search advice: As a first-generation student myself, I understand that the college process can be overwhelming. Not only are there visits to schedule, application deadlines for admission, scholarships, and financial aid, but there is also the added pressure of choosing a major and the right school! There are a lot of decisions to make. My advice would be to take a deep breath. Take things one step at a time and know that you don’t have to decide right away. Take your time and do your research. Schedule visits to many different schools to see all the options. Apply to many different schools to keep your options open. It’s better to take your time than to make a hasty decision that ultimately makes you unhappy. The rest will all come. Also, reaching out to your current teachers or someone who has been through the college process before can be helpful in the process.

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, volunteering in the community, traveling, watching movies (especially Star Wars), and taking pictures. I also love to read, and did I mention my love for coffee?

Fun fact: You wouldn’t believe it just by looking at me, but I am a firefighter.
