Student Experience

The school fosters a climate of intellectual curiosity while it also provides the training needed to start a good career or go on for additional graduate education. Faculty collaboration with students on research is encouraged, along with engagement in regional service and community outreach. Students' creativity is showcased through a variety of interconnected science based projects and experiential learning is promoted through many kinds of opportunities in the community. The school has been highly successful in placing students into professional schools and graduates into jobs.

Scholarships

The Christine Marmo Birney Memorial Scholarship
Eligible students must be majoring in Medical Technology, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, or the Physician Assistant program. The award amount will be divided among selected qualified applicants.

The Dr. Ned J. Pickett and Dr. Carol Wiltse-Potts Medical Scholarship
Eligible students must be enrolled in a Pre-Professional program. Based on financial need.

The Eleanore Benthack-Ingram Memorial Scholarship
Eligible students must be Pre-Medicine majors. The award amount will be divided among selected qualified applicants.

The Gordon Shupe Memorial Scholarship
Eligible students must be pursuing a Health Services career.

The Dr. J.S. Johar Endowed Scholarship
Eligible students must be full-time students pursuing a Pre-Health Professions program.

The Leland E. and Margaret J. Dannals Endowed Scholarship
Eligible students must be a sophomore, junior or senior Chemistry or Chemistry Education major.

The Lambda Delta Lambda/Russ Rasmussen Physical Science Scholarship
Eligible students must be full time sophomore, junior or senor Chemistry majors with a minimum GPA of 3.33.

The Louise Wendt Lundquist Memorial Scholarship
Eligible students must be a Science major.

The Paul Jonathan Ewald Jorde Pre-Med Scholarship
Eligible students must be majoring in Pre-Medicine.

The Gary and Janice Small Endowed Scholarship
Eligible students must be pursing Education degrees. First preference to Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Natural Sciences Education and then Physical Sciences Education majors.

The Physical Science Scholarship
Eligible students must be full-time sophomores or juniors majoring in Physical Sciences. Recipient must have a 3.33 GPA or higher.

The Stacey Dagle Memorial Scholarship
Eligible students must be of junior or senior standing majoring in Pre-Medicine. The award amount will be divided among selected qualified applicants.

The Dr. Paul and Marcia J. Swanson Dental Endowed Scholarship
Eligible students must be majoring in Pre-Dentistry. First preference shall be given to student from Laurel and Wausa, Nebraska. Recipients must demonstrate financial need.

The Walter G. Ingram Scholarship
Eligible students must be majoring in a Science.

The Hass Foundation Scholarship
Eligible students can be full or part time, majoring in Pre-Medicine. Second preference will be to Chemistry majors. The award amount will be divided amont selected qualified students.

The A.V. Teed Memorial Scholarship
Eligible students must be Mathematics majors. Based on financial need.

The Darold and Maxine Bobier Math Scholarship in Memory of Jessie Boyce
Eligible students must be Mathematics majors. Full-time students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Each award must be a minimum of $500 and is based on financial need.

The Faye Bower Saxton Scholarship
Eligible students must be Education majors with an emphasis in Mathematics

The Dennis and Marcia Hult Mathematics Education Endowed Scholarship
Eligible students must be juniors or seniors majoring in Mathematics Education.

The Neil and Bonnie Sandahl Scholarship
Eligible students must be Mathematics majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must demonstrate financial need.

The Webber Memorial Mathematics Scholarship
Eligible students must be Mathematics or Mathematics Education majors.

The Dr. Frank Prather Memorial Scholarship
Eligible students must show academic ability in the field of Mathematics or Mathematics Education.
