Dr. Carolyn Glackin is an education professor at Wayne State College. Prior to teaching at Wayne State, Dr. Glackin taught middle school reading and was an assistant professor of education at Morningside University, an independent literacy consultant, K-8 educator, and a third level of Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) professional development provider for the Iowa Department of Education. She has contributed to numerous committees such as the Institutional Review Board and Academic Standards Review and has taken on district leadership roles in the state of Iowa. She is a current member of the International Literacy Association and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development / International Society for Technology in Education. Her research interests include long-term professional development initiatives and cost effectiveness analysis for reading interventions in school districts.
