Dr. Jenny Piening is an assistant professor in the School Administration graduate program. Prior to teaching at WSC, she was an elementary principal at Norris and director of student services at Malcolm. Piening was a school-based occupational therapist and special education teacher. She is a member of WSC's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Piening is married to Hank and has two daughters, Grayson and Loryn.
Piening consults and is a guest speaker with area schools and ESUs, focusing on teacher leadership and principal growth and mentorship. She is conducting research regarding principal retention rates, with a specific focus on female principals. Outside of WSC, Piening is on the board of Uplifting Paws, a non-profit organization that trains dogs for individuals with disabilities and trains therapy dog teams to work within the community.
