Abbie (Diediker) Baack ’03, MSE ‘06 is an instructor in the Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership at Wayne State College. She serves as the advisor for the NSEA Aspiring Educators group and is a member of the Scholarship Honors and Financial Aid Committee.
With nearly two decades of teaching experience, Baack brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. She began her career at Washington Elementary in Norfolk, Neb., teaching fifth grade for four years. In 2008, she relocated to Seward, Neb., where she taught fourth and fifth grade for 16 years in the Milford school district.
Transitioning to higher education, Baack worked at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, supervising student teachers and teaching a practicum course. This experience ignited her passion for working with college students, leading to her current position at Wayne State College.
Baack's family is originally from the Wayne community. Her husband, Shane Baack '04, works as a financial advisor at JonesGroup Insurance. Their daughter, Morgan (Baack) Erwin, resides in Wayne and is employed at Timberlyne. Their son, Maddox, is pursuing an Accounting degree as a junior at UNL.
In her leisure time, Baack enjoys reading, golfing, and spending quality time with her family.
