Computer Information Systems Minor

A minor in computer information systems is ideal for anyone outside the Computer Technology and Information Systems Department who wants to become more knowledgeable in the realm of information technology. In our technology-driven era, information systems play an important role in nearly every job industry. Through coursework in the minor, you’ll learn principles and concepts of computing and how they relate to basic business functions. You’ll learn introductory programming and gain practical skills in the areas of networking, systems development, hardware, and operating systems. A solid background in these skills increases your marketability, telling employers that you are capable of handling new and emerging technology, and that you are of diving right in to the systems they may currently have in place.
