Undeclared students: If you do not declare a major, you will be assigned an academic advisor through the Holland Academic Success Center.
Declared students: All first-year students will be assigned an advisor from the Holland Academic Success Center. Holland advisors will reach out to students via their WSC email during the summer and will provide important information on what to expect during the fall.
Students that fall into the following five groups will be assigned an advisor from that office or group and will not be advised by the Holland center (but can always come in for help):
- Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP)
- Growing Together
- International Students
- Honors Students
- TRIO Students
Declared students will transition to a faculty advisor after registration is completed during the spring term. Holland advisors will arrange events where students can meet their new advisors in person and create the foundation of a strong, effective professional relationship. Holland advisors will remain as a secondary advisor and a constant resource.
