Can I install the software on a personally owned (non-wsc) computer?
Yes, there is the option available to install one of your licenses on your personally owned computer or laptop. BEFORE YOU INSTALL AN APPLICATION FROM THE CREATIVE CLOUD APPLICATION MANAGER BE SURE THAT YOUR COMPUTER MEETS THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED HERE > https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html
Briefly, your computer MUST be Mac OS X 10.1 or Windows 7, 8, or 10 and for many of these Adobe applications it is highly recommended that you have at least 8gb of RAM for memory (if you only want to use Adobe Acrobat DC you should be ok with 2gb RAM or more).
Why wasn’t this availble to campus in 2015 or even in 2016 since Adobe CS 6 support ended in 2014?
Cost and program availabilty through Adobe are the two major reasons for a campus-wide licensing not being available sooner. Up until this summer (2017) it budgetarily made sense to purchase single licenses as needed. Having pushed over 60 single licenses (80 by then end of this summer), and due to restructuring of our old Adobe VIP pricing program (with a 30% cost increase per license), it is now more cost effective to enter into a new enterprise program (ETLA) allowing us to provide licenses to all WSC staff and faculty.
Creative Suite 6.0 is working on my computer, do I need to use the newer version Adobe Creative Cloud (CC)?
Support for Adobe Creative Suite 6.0 ended in 2014. Please find time soon to transition to CC. Adobe Creative Suite 6 will not be available with Windows 10 and the migration to Windows 10 is a project already underway.
Which software apps are available to me in this new Adobe ETLA agreement?
All products under the following suites are inlcuded: Creative Cloud for enterprise (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat Pro, Audition, and more), Adobe Document Cloud for enterprise (Acrobat DC, Adobe Sign), Adobe Captivate, and Presenter.
Note: Adobe Stock is NOT included in the ETLA agreement. This would be a single app purhase. Please contact NATS for pricing and purchase if you have a need for Adobe Stock.
Will I be able to open files I created in a previous version of Adobe Creative Suite (CS)?
Yes, you should be able to open files in the new Creative Cloud version from older versions like Creative Suite 6.0, 5.5, 5, 4…..
Can Adobe CC be installed on more than one of my computers?
Yes, each user (faculty and staff) has the option to install the Adobe apps, or full suite, on two machines.
Do I have to install the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite to get Adode Acrobat on my computer?
No you do not. Each app, like Acrobat for instance, can be downloaded through the Adobe download center. It is recommended to only install the apps you will use. Installing the full suite will take up extra space on your hard drive, reducing the available space on your c: drive for future programs or documents. It could also take up to 90 minutes or longer to install the full suite. Installing a single app should take significantly less time.
